Disaster Management
Recent natural and man made disasters have highlighted the difficulties government agencies and private-sector organizations face in providing coordinated, timely, and effective disaster assistance information and relief to the public. Citizens, businesses, and governments alike spend significant amounts of time collecting appropriate disaster management data on topics such as the bird flu epidemic, chemical spills and bioterrorism to name a few.
The Global Health Network’s planning and consulting services uses cutting-edge information technology to improve the delivery of disaster assistance information. GHN provides disaster information and services to Management Relief Groups, Universities, Hospitals, Government Agencies and other organizations worldwide on the four pillars of disaster management: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.
GHN’s disaster management services facilitate the development of the medical practitioner-driven standards for planning, implementing and evaluating departmental readiness response. GHN assists agencies in disaster preparedness through their participation in training courses and exercises to: deploy operational plans and products, exchange data within the emergency response community, integrate mass casualty preparedness activities and provide leadership in the coordination of efforts relating to influenza and infectious diseases.
The Network is able to provide instruction to key target groups, which will directly improve incident response at all levels. The accelerated provision of information and services to disaster victims expedites recovery, reduces government spending, speeds rebuilding and restores public confidence.
